Mentioned at the end of the middle ages, the small chapel was constructed on an older site, on a crossroads near a ford over the river Florièye. The remains of the old porch spanning the road can still be seen. It was destroyed because it obstructed the road, and to make the celebration of local festivals easier.
The feast of Saint Pons is celebrated in May and the birth of the Virgin on 8th September.
The chapel is not related to the first Cistercian abbey of the same name in Tourtour.
